FINAL - GUESS WHO? YEP HIM AGAIN!  Plus "NANCARROWS CUP" WIN TO THE MIGHTY BEAN
EDITORIAL STILLLLLL TO COME. BUT CORRECT WEIGHT NOW DECLARED!

ROUND SIX & SEVEN - BRING IT ONNNN!
"Gentlemen Start Your Engines" - Round Six is on Friday 7th March. Murph is still waiting to here from his mate at Portsea so he has made a backup booking at Cape Schanck for 3.00pm. He will be trying to secure a 1.30pm booking for Portsea SO SPEAK UP IF YOU ARE COMING FROM WORK AND PREFER A LATER TIME!!!  Round Seven has already been booked for The Dunes at 8.32am on Saturday 8 March and Rosebud Country Club on Sunday morning from 9.00am.

Murph also advises that he has only enough bedding for 9 so if anyone can bring other temporary bedding that would be great. You should also bring your own towels for showering. We will have to get up early for a shower as there are only two available.

We are again meeting at the Baxter Tavern on Thursday night around 8.00pm for the traditional barrier draw and final arrangements etc.

ROUND FIVE - STILL MATHEMATICALLY POSSIBLE FOR AT LEAST SIX!
Sensational playing conditions once again this season for round 5 of the Massey at the 'Divot'. Where Q with a net 68 put a small gap on the other leaders, but in doing so tightened in handicap by 2 strokes (about time I here you all say!). Gooey also with a net 68 tied for first place to move back into contention in 3rd spot overall. While the Mighty Bean came home in 3rd place with a fighting 72.....  |Full Details|

See you at the Baxter Tavern on Thursday 6 March at 8.00pm for the draw and a big sip!!

ROUND FIVE - STOP THE PRESS.... BEANO MAKES SEMI'S AFTER SCORE CHECK
Yes folks, after correct weight it seems that I made another error in the reading of the scores (I need a holiday) I incorrectly applied 2 points each to Kenny & Scoot for their tied match but it should have been 1.5 points (Bean & Scoot therefore both had 2 wins, 1 forfeit , 1 draw and 1 loss) which means that Scoot & Bean finish with 9.5 points each with Bean getting 2nd place by a better 'net holes up' (He also beat Scoot head to head!) So the semi's for the match play are Kenny V Quinny & Scimma V Beano!!!!!!

Stay tuned for a further wash up of Round 5 etc. ... coming soon I hope!

ROUND FOUR - SCHOCKER AT THE SCHANCK!!
Benign conditions greeted the Dewars Stableford Classic at Cape Schanck which should have seen better scores - yet no one was capable of beating par, most particularly on the back nine. .....

ROUND THREE REVIEW - LONG AWAITED MAIDEN  VICTORY  - BUT WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!
Yes, another sensational day for golf and didn't the scores show it - with five players bettering the previous track record of 39 stableford points and Scoot bringing home the bacon for the first time in his Massey career with a new record of 46 points which has catapulted him into equal 3rd place on the tally board.....

ROUND TWO REVIEW - FROM CHOCOLATES TO BOILED LOLLIES AND A BOIL OVER!
Another beautiful day saw records tumble as three of our intrepid warriors broke the previous course stableford record of 35 set by Jimmy way back in the summer of 92/93. As well as setting a new stableford mark of 39 points Henry shot a course record 77 off the stick to better his previous mark of 78. At the other end of the scale Kenny Baxter went from chocolates to boiled lollies when he equaled his worst ever score of 23 to bring up the rear following his first up win at The Bend....

ROUND ONE REVIEW - RETURN OF THE GREAT WHITE SARDINE!
Fine & warm to hot conditions greeted us at the opening round of the Massey for 07/08. This time last year Jimmy stamped himself as the man to beat with a win at Cape Schanck, but not this year as he struggled at the first hurdle of his tilt at a sixth Massey title to come in last with a net 89. However the bigger story is that of the return of the GREAT WHITE SARDINE!....

FINAL ROUND  06/07 REVIEW  - NUMBER FIVE IT IS!
With Murph and Mike absent and a 4.5 point deficit to make up Glenn needed a miracle to capture his maiden Massey title. Well he didn't let himself down as he punched his way to a remarkable net 71 under extreme pressure to claim top points for the round.  Schimma shot an equal course record 84 strokes (72) and Scoot also helped out with a personal best net 74. Gooey tried hard with a contribution of 76. He only needed two more players inside Jimmys score..... |Full Details|
