JAMES STICKS IT UP EM!
What more can you
say... James Griffiths blew us all away with arguably the most outstanding year
we have seen to date with no less than third place in any
round except for round five at Flinders where speculation says he may have
boycotted to spend quality time on Sunday Island following the
"controversial" postponing of the inaugural "Johnnie Walker
Classic" round which was to be hosted by Murph at Patterson River...
By doing so Jimmy
surrendered a 6.5 point lead over the field and traveled to Yarrawonga in
third place behind David Murphy & Stuart "Gooey" Lamey with Mark
O'Connor lurking a measly 0.5 point away.
However, showing the
grim
determination only previously seen in his heyday at the Pirates,
James showed just how much control he had in the cauldron of death we know the
final round of The Massey can be to notch his fourth Massey victory.
James gave us a
glimpse of what was on his mind when he let off a little bit of steam
during the after match dinner at the Ski Club later that night. (tell us what
ya really think Jimmy!)
MURPHY'S GREEN BOY
Just have to
mention the efforts of David "Green Boy" Murphy who was
feeling a tad "Kevin Sheedy" after consuming copious amounts
of Stollies during the return of the traditional Friday night card game.
Was it
involuntary or did he in fact stick the "Onkaparinga's" down
the "John O'Groat" for a "Coburg & Kew" behind
the "George Dubya" on the first on Saturday morning.
And just like the
colt from Goondawindi was a beaten front running favourite!

INAUGURAL JOHNNIE
WALKER CLASSIC
Yes, this year saw the
introduction of the "Johnnie Walker Classic" ambrose event held eventually at
Mornington in conjunction with round four of The Massey. The Teams event was
won by that dynamic
trio consisting of Paul
West, Stuart Lamey and Ian Quinton (seen here in all their sartorial splender).
Congratulations to Mark O'Connor who won this soon to be time honored
event with 36 Points - seven points clear of Murph in very difficult hot
& windy conditions. Thanks, Jimmy for an excellent show bag
of goodies for the winners.

AMBROSE EVENT
Held on the final
Sunday on the Murray course this prestigious event was won by David Murphy, Glenn Martin, Michael
Hall (who joined us on Saturday night) and Ian Quinton. Mike & Quinny are looking for new team mates next year
- so they can actually contribute something and get on the card before the
17th.
